Education, Experience and Current Position

Francesco Quaglia received the Laurea degree (MS level) in Electronic Engineering in 1995 and the PhD degree in Computer Engineering in 1999 from the University of Rome ``La Sapienza''.

From summer 1999 to summer 2000 he held an appointment as a Researcher at the Italian National Research Council (CNR).

From January 2005 to June 2017 he worked as an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Rome ``La Sapienza", where he had previously worked as an Assistant Professor since September 2000 to December 2004.

Since June 2017 he works as a Full Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Rome ``Tor Vergata"

Starting from 2003, he has served as consultant expert of CNIPA (National Center for Informatics in the Public Administration - now AGID) in the definition of guidelines for next generation infrastructures in the public administration, and in the verification of SPC (Public Connectivity System) projects.

He has also served as referee for the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) in the evaluation of national research projects.

Since November 2009 to February 2014 he has been an Elected Member of the Academic Senate ("Senato Accademico") of the University of Rome ``La Sapienza".

Since February 2019 he is the Coordinator of the PhD program Computer Science, Control and GeoInformation of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

He is co-founder of Lockless S.r.l., a joint startup between Sapienza University of Rome and the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
